One of the greatest things about living in a big city is the plethora of bargains one can find! You can get amazing designer furniture on Craigslist simply because, for example, a man is getting re-married and the new wife doesn't want to be reminded of the furniture the first wife chose. That's the backstory to most of the furnishings in my apartment. Well, I had been wanting a new bookcase, since I was originally planning to leave at the end of August, and sold a few minor pieces of furniture including the bookcase which I found on the street and re-painted. Anyway, I noticed that someone on CL was giving away a bookcase that looked to be in good condition, I contacted her, she apologized that she had just promised it to someone else, but as sort of a consolation, asked me if I'd be interested in a wall organizer instead. Being the quintessential Virgo, I said yes. Originally, it was a whiteboard calendar, file holder, and small bulletin board, but I knew I would not use the whiteboard calendar portion, so I covered that with cork, and here's the lovely finished product. I'm especially proud of the fact that I assembled this with no instructions and NO MAN!
